Ronan Auffret and Lou-Anne Prinet crowned French FSGT champions this Sunday in Perreux

After the young and old races, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, it was the turn of the women and then the men to explain themselves for the title of French FSGT champion this Sunday afternoon.

On a 2.8 km circuit, sometimes muddy, sometimes frozen, the twenty women and forty men did well and delighted the large audience who came to support them in their efforts.

Superb victory Lou-Anne Prinet, still Juniors

To start the afternoon, the women's peloton set off on the circuit for 40 minutes of racing. Quickly, the podium took shape with at the front of the race Émilie Petithory (), former world champion of the discipline, the young Lou-Anne Prinet (Côte d'Or), still Juniors, and Anaïs Delsart ( Hauts of Seine Yveline). The representative of the , Salomé Cursoux, tried to keep up the pace a few tens of seconds from the lead.

In the women's category, it was the young Lou-Anne Prinet who won the national title.

Youth ultimately won out over experience. Lou-Anne Prinet, after taking the lead of the race on the second lap, crossed the line first to win the national title. Émilie Petithory and Anaïs Delsart logically completed the podium, while Ligerian Salomé Cursoux finished in a good 5th place.

Ronan Auffret dominant from the first laps of the wheels

Around 2:30 p.m., forty male runners took their place at the starting line for a 50-minute race. Here too, the favorites did not wait to take the lead. Ronan Auffret (Essonne Seine et Sud) made a significant effort in the first lap to break away from his pursuers. Sébastien Desgoutte (Loire) and Roannais Eliott Austin (Loire) hung on to around thirty seconds for the first and almost a minute for the second.

The race will thus remain frozen, the gaps stabilizing or widening somewhat as the laps go by. At the start of the last loop, Ronan Auffret had won the race and Sébastien Desgoutte was assured of second place. For the last step of the podium, Luka Texier (Morbihan) and Hugo Roussillon (Tarn), returning to the wheel of Eliott Austin, would have to battle three for a single place.

Third until the penultimate lap, Roannais Eliott Austin has long hoped to get on the podium. He finally finished in a good 5th place.

It was ultimately Luka Texier who won in the sprint ahead of Hugo Roussillon, Eliott Austin having crashed in the last few meters. “Of course I'm disappointed not to get on the podium in front of family and friends. But 5th is not so bad, because I'm coming back from injury. I left quickly hoping to hold on, but it was very strong in front and came back behind me at the end”, analyzed the Roannais when the finish line was crossed.
