In our January 16 edition, the president of the community of communes of Matheysine, Coraline Saurat, took stock of the situation in Alpe – since the station is now managed by com-com. An imprecision was, however, noted by a resident, Mr. Planes, who was surprised that the president spoke of an “operating budget of 10 million annually” for the com-com. “Indeed, it is the main operating budget which is 10 million – and it is this budget which must finance the loss of value of 1.108 million”, specifies Coraline Saurat. “The overall operating budget (including additional budgets) is around 20 million,” adds the elected official.
Mr. Planes also mentions “€85,000 paid each year to the com-com by the former management union”, a sum which, according to him, should therefore be deducted from what the station costs annually. “Since 2021 this amount has actually been paid to us. But that does not change the substance,” believes Coraline Saurat, who recalls that it was the capital loss and the 2023 deficit which had encouraged elected officials to vote for the end of the station.
