Dakar: Haute- driver Jérémy Miroir finishes in the top 30

Hard to get, this second finisher's medal? “I pretty much agree with that!” » With a smile on his lips, Jérémy Miroir can finally breathe: the 7,828 kilometers of the Dakar 2025 are behind him.
A year after his debut in the race, the Auvergne fulfilled his part of the contract by completing the 12 stages on the program in the desert of Saudi Arabia. Not without difficulty, since a heavy fall almost ended his adventure three days earlier. His face was still marked when he crossed the finish line at Shubaytah.

“I thought it was going to stop”

“I thought it was going to stop,” he remembers. “I fell pretty hard and the medical team wasn't too keen to let me go again. It was complicated, I hurt everywhere. But my teammate waited for me, that re-energized me, and at the aid station they revived me. » Overcoming the pain, the Arvant driver then decided to complete the remaining three days, “because it's really important for the Fantic brand. I’m very happy to have gone to the end, because it was worth it.”

Four places gained

In the desert dunes of the Empty Quarter, Jérémy not only improved on his 31st place achieved in 2024. He also scored Fantic Racing's new best result in the race, finishing in 27th position. “It's a shame because we were closer to the Top 20 before the fall, but that's how it is. The Dakar, one day it goes well, one day it doesn't. We're finished, we're whole, that's already a good thing,” the Auvergne is satisfied.
Recruited by the Italian firm in 2023, Jérémy Miroir's mission was to accumulate kilometers and ride the motorcycle. The version in his hands was similar to the one already flown in 2024, but he should soon receive a new toy. “There will normally be a new Fantic during the year, based on feedback from my teammates. We hope to be even more efficient. » Until then, he should return to enduro racing. And why not meet his audience on the Rand'Auvergne, the Ambert classic on which he already has several podiums.
