The Richard-Toll urban police station carried out a large-scale operation which resulted in the arrest of two individuals, AD and YF, known for their involvement in drug trafficking. During an intervention led by Lieutenant Bachir Ndao’s men, the police immobilized a suspicious vehicle, leading to a thorough search.
This action follows valuable information collected by the police services, allowing the location and seizure of a significant quantity of 6,300 kg of “yamba”, the vernacular term for Indian hemp. In addition, a machete was also found in the vehicle, reinforcing suspicions of criminal activity.
The two suspects, presenting themselves as breeders, were arrested for criminal conspiracy and drug trafficking. They and their actions are now under the watchful eye of justice. After a preliminary investigation, they were presented this Thursday morning to the public prosecutor at the Saint-Louis high court. This case underlines the commitment of local authorities in the fight against drug trafficking and organized crime in the territory.
