A company victim of metal theft in Côte-d'Or, the manager sets out in pursuit of the criminals

He wanted to take justice into his own hands and almost went after the wrong person. This Monday, January 13, an entrepreneur based in Til-Châtel (Côte-d'Or) noticed that metal had been stolen from his company, reports Here Burgundy. Shortly before 10 a.m., while he was driving, he saw his merchandise in the trailer of a van. So he decided to follow her.

The thieves' van ends up on the roof

But the driver then accelerated to try to escape. He finally lost control of his vehicle and ended up on its roof, near a river. Quickly on the scene, the manager of the business spotted a person and believed he was dealing with one of the thieves. He was about to lash out when he realized he was wrong. The man was in fact the secretary of a veterinary clinic in the area who had rushed to the scene to rescue possible victims. The criminals had vanished.

The gendarmes deployed a major effort to find them, with the mobilization of a helicopter and a dog team. But as of Monday evening, the suspects were still on the run.
