Poilievre responds to PSPP: a conservative government would harm the sovereignty movement

Paul St-Pierre Plamondon is afraid of a conservative government in Ottawa because it would harm the sovereignty movement, mocks Pierre Poilievre. He promises to respect the autonomy of the provinces, but nevertheless refuses to finance the tram project in Quebec.

The leader of the Conservative Party of Canada responded Wednesday to the attacks of the PQ leader. Last week, PSPP warned Quebecers against the election of the Blues at the federal level, who have the same “contempt” as Justin Trudeau’s Liberals for Quebec.

“You are afraid that a conservative government will respect Quebec’s autonomy because that would harm your arguments in favor of sovereignty. Under Stephen Harper, Quebec was respected, immigration was under control and the federal government meddled in its affairs. My government will adopt responsible federalism by following these principles. Quebecers will be winners,” said Pierre Poilievre, in a publication on social networks.

But there is no question of a conservative federal government giving a penny for the tramway in the national capital, which has nevertheless received the consent of the Quebec government.

“Unlike you, I listen to the people of Quebec who reject this project. I prefer to invest in a third link, an important project that you have despised by calling it “niochon”,” he adds.

Pierre Poilievre believes that he cannot be compared to Justin Trudeau and his “woke” policies.

The Conservative leader also denies wanting to govern in favor of the interests of Western Canada.

“I am not here to defend the interests of one region for the benefit of another. I am here to restore the promise of Canada so that everyone who works hard can earn a good salary, buy an affordable home and raise a family in a safe neighborhood,” he insists.
