This Tuesday morning, the town of Montauban in Tarn-et-Garonne woke up to the alarming cries of a woman pushing the emergency services, called by the neighborhood, to intervene on the 26-year-old young woman, reports La Dépêche du Midi. The firefighters and the police discovered the owner covered in blood and very confused, who pushed them to enter her home.
Inside, the police quickly discovered where the blood came from. In the bathroom, a dog lies in the bloody bathtub. The poor animal, an 8-month-old English setter, died from several stab wounds which perforated his lungs and heart, according to the veterinarian urgently called to the scene.
The Montauban public prosecutor's office has announced that it has opened a criminal investigation into acts of cruelty towards a domestic animal. The woman, in a state of psychotic crisis, according to a source close to the case, and injured has not yet been heard by investigators due to her physical and psychological state.
A complaint filed by an association
The Toulouse animal rights association “Les 4 Pattounes” announced, for its part, that it had filed a complaint and filed a civil suit for crimes of serious abuse and acts of cruelty resulting in death. The accused could be sentenced to five years in prison and a fine of 75,000 euros.
