Located in the municipality of Cheste, in one of the areas of the Valencia region most affected by the devastating storm of October 29, the Ricardo Tormo circuit suffered little damage to its infrastructure, but the conditions were not. were nevertheless not met so that he could host his Grand Prix as planned, two weeks later.
Faced with threats of a pilot boycott and an ultimately inevitable cancellation given the considerable damage in the region, MotoGP had to reschedule the championship final as well as the traditional first test of the off-season in Barcelona, amounting to a weekend of solidarity which generated donations for the populations affected by the floods.
Since then, the region has been trying to rebuild itself, and this also applies to the circuit, whose access roads and parking lots have been invaded by water and mud, and in places damaged. The company in charge of managing the premises has now approved a plan to reconstruct the accesses and parking lots, work which will allow the Ricardo Tormo circuit to once again welcome the paddock for the Valencia GP scheduled for the 16th. next November.
“The board of directors of the company managing the Ricardo Tormo circuit met on Thursday [dernier] to study and approve the plan for the reconstruction of the accesses and parking lots of the Cheste facilities”, explained the circuit in a press release.

“Since the tragic passage of the Dana (or cold drop, editor's note) in the province of Valencia on October 29, the circuit was forced to cancel the last three events of the 2024 calendar and focused its efforts on helping provided to its neighbors through various solidarity actions, as well as the commissioning of an alternative access to restart its daily activity since December 5″, continues the press release.
“The reconstruction plan describes the work that will be carried out in the affected areas in order to resolve the access and parking problems that the circuit has faced since the storm. In addition, the board of directors decided to request assistance of the High Council of Sports to carry out this work.”
-The note published by the circuit indicates that the work will begin immediately: “The work on the main access will begin this week with the reconstruction of the bridge over the Barranco de Sechara, after which the perimeter fences will be reinstalled and the pedestrian accesses rebuilt. The plan also provides for the work that will be carried out on the parking lots in order to that they be operational from March until then, the events scheduled for the 2025 calendar of the Ricardo Tormo circuit will take place with limited capacity in order to guarantee the safety of spectators attending the races.
