Time for the ninth edition of Élevage en fête in Nièvre

Saturday January 18 will be held the ninth edition of Elevage en fête, where the departmental final of the livestock judging competition will take place which will begin at 1:30 p.m., with around forty young breeders.

In the beef and sheep sections, the first two in the department will be selected for the national final which will be held during the International Agricultural Show at the end of February. In the equine section, only the first will be selected for .

In each section, the young competitors will have, before their eyes, four animals with a reference one, for which they will know the scores awarded by the jury. We will have to get as close as possible to the assessments of this jury for the other three. The selective cantonal final for winter 2025-2026 will begin at 2 p.m.

Today's host, David Sotty

David Sotty will host this livestock festival on his farm. A breeder of Charolais cattle, passionate about it since he was little, he knows what he wants in his herd: Charolais cows with well-established maternal qualities and with pedigree. And above all, he only keeps animals that produce regularly.

With in particular the Palace bull which since 2019, with the Ajec prize in , has won multiple victories including the prestigious senior honorary prize in Moulins in 2022. This competition being the final of all national competitions .
