SENEGAL- HEALTH / More than 98,000 equal opportunities cards produced (official) – Senegalese press agency

Ziguinchor, January 14 (APS) – The State of Senegal has issued 98,126 equal opportunities cards, revealed Tuesday, in Ziguinchor (south), the director of the promotion of the protection of disabled people, Mamadou Lamine Faty.

“Today, the State of Senegal has produced 98,126 equal opportunities cards linked to social safety net programs such as family security grants, universal health coverage and the transport system,” said Mr. Faty .

He was speaking at a regional development committee (CRD) focused on the installation of the multi-sectoral regional committee for disability management and accessibility to assistive technologies in Ziguinchor. The meeting took place in the presence of the deputy governor of Ziguinchor in charge of development, Alsény Bangoura.

“With the support of partners, such as the project to improve access to Senegal’s digital economy, Senegal intends to produce 705,000 equal opportunities cards or disability certificates by 2029. », announced Mamadou Lamine Faty.

According to him, “the equal opportunities card is a flagship disability inclusion program in Senegal. It is established by law and regulated by a decree.
