the essential
Fabien Galthié will reveal this Wednesday, January 15, the list of 42 players who will prepare for the Six Nations Tournament. The Palois and the Rochelais should in all likelihood make their return to the selection.
A few months earlier, this would have been very difficult to imagine. But, this Wednesday, January 15, according to L'Équipe, Fabien Galthié should call Oscar Jegou (La Rochelle) and Hugo Auradou (Pau) to prepare for the Six Nations Tournament. The two players would have been notified this Tuesday. They could be in the group to face Wales on January 31.

This choice follows the dismissal of the case pronounced by the Argentine courts a month earlier. As soon as it was announced, the FFR assured that the two internationals were once again “selectable to play again for the French team” subject to good sporting performances at club. However, the complainant, a 39-year-old woman who accused them of aggravated gang rape in July during a tour of the XV of France in Argentina, appealed the legal decision.
A carefully considered choice
The two 21-year-old rugby players are therefore not officially finished with the legal proceedings. But this call never slowed down a new summons from Oscar Jegou and Hugo Auradou. According to information from L'Équipe, their return was debated within the FFR. It would have finally been recorded at the end of a discussion between the coach and the vice-president of the body Jean-Marc Lhermet.

The Argentine courts will examine the plaintiff's appeal on February 10, in the middle of the Six Nations Tournament. We will probably have to wait two weeks to know the verdict. If the two French people were ever convicted, they would no longer be eligible for selection and would leave Marcoussis. Otherwise, they would be permanently cleared. Indeed, the Argentine Penal Code stipulates that such a decision would definitively close the case.
On a sporting level, Hugo Auradou has proven himself indispensable in the second line position with the Section Paloise. Oscar Jegou, for his part, showed resplendent form with La Rochelle. He notably scored a try during the Maritimes' victory against Stade Toulousain in early January (22-19).
