With its 43 cities, the São Paulo federation has thousands of licensees. Also, for this gigantic course, more than 200 judokas met, whether they were juniors, seniors or teachers. To arrive on the tatami of the city's municipal gymnasium, the Guyanese traveled 15 hours. According to Ewald Laurencin, member of the Brazilian Judo Jujitsu Evolution (JJBE) office, the game was worth it. Especially since he teaches children under 14 years old. “It was a trip between friends around a common passion, judo. It was exciting! You learn things just by watching others practice. Now we must try to pass on what we have seen to the youngest as best we can. »

For judoka, courses of this type in would also be interesting, with internationally renowned names. But the cost of the plane ticket alone is a barrier. So he is pragmatic: “We must look to Brazil, it is a strong nation. League events in Brazil like this, where you have the chance to know one of the organizers, are a good opportunity. Next year, I'm going to try to take young people, if I can find the funding. »
