Jean-Claude Van Damme is back in cinema, in France. And he's always in great shape when he gives interviews. The theorist of “aware”was in duplex from Thailand, this January 12, 2025. He answered questions from Yann Barthès, in “Daily“, south TMC.
On set, the host received Michaël Yoün. He shares with him the poster of the film “The Gardener”since January 10, 2025 on Amazon Prime Video. And one sequence particularly made people laugh.
Jean-Claude Van Damme puts on a show
Jean-Claude Van Damme began by explaining about Michaël Yoün that he was more than“aware”. Playing a game on phonetics, he actually confided that he was “a wear”. And to detail his point of view: “Before it was aware, to be conscious of the thing, now a, it's a, wear, wearing, a piece of clothing, a wear. We changed this year.”
On his momentum, the entertainer continued: “And the good thing is, look I'm here in Thailand, but people never see that.” He indeed estimated: “We're on TV, but there, there's the computer (the computer, editor's note), there's work, there's everything, the bedroom.”
And to add: “I have my gardener's back scratcher (a rake, editor's note), I even have my chapstick (lip balm, editor's note)), which is pink with my shirt, everything is fine. I have two phones.”
From Paris, the Quotidien set sank into laughter. Yann Barthès, who could no longer place one, then turned to Michaël Yoün. The latter then assured him: “No, but that’s it, he’s gone, when he’s in a good mood, it’s over.”
-Taking advantage of a little silence, Yann Barthès was finally able to interview Jean-Claude Van Damme. He continued: “There’s not only fighting in JCVD’s life, there’s also hot dancing, look”. And to broadcast an extract from the film “Kickboxer“, released in 1989. When he asked: “Jean-Claude, how did you invent this brilliant dance?”, the latter assured him: “I got new moves! I got new moves.”
He shows a little too much
Very happy, Yann Barthès then challenged JCVD to dance for him: “Please go ahead, we’re a customer, what are your new moves?”
And the latter confesses to him, all smiles and always very natural: “I can't, because I'm in calbute”. A confidence that he wanted to prove, by showing his underwear on the screen. Michaël Youn then whispered to him: “Jean-Claude, stop!”
