Six new “112” ambulances will join the fleet of vehicles of the Belgian Red Cross on Wednesday, the organization announced in a press release on Monday. This will therefore have a total of 55 “112” ambulances operating in Wallonia.
The Belgian Red Cross, a major player in urgent medical aid with more than 54,000 emergency interventions in 2024, will put six new “112” ambulances into service on Wednesday. The vehicles will be strategically distributed in the emergency centers of Braine-l’Alleud, Oupeye, Namur, Ghlin, Ougrée and Amay.
The organization also indicated that it wanted to continue its investment in its vehicle fleet in the coming years “to respond to the growing challenges of medical emergencies”.
Last year, the Belgian Red Cross had already acquired five vehicles for transporting people with reduced mobility.
