Loterie Romande and Swisslos, its German-speaking and Ticino counterpart, enabled 35 players to become millionaires in Switzerland in 2024. Twenty-six people had the chance to pocket one or more millions thanks to Swiss Loto, and nine players became millionaires thanks to EuroMillions.
Of the 26 people who saw their account credited with one or more millions, 23 won thanks to Swiss Loto and three thanks to the additional Joker game. The year 2024 was historic for Swiss Loto, with a record gain of 64.6 million francs won on March 2, 2024. This gain erased the previous record of 48.6 million francs won in August 2014.
EuroMillions celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2024. For this anniversary, no less than nine lucky people won a million in Switzerland, including five in French-speaking Switzerland, during a new edition of the “Rain of Millionaires”, on November 22 . On this occasion, a draw allowed 100 EuroMillions players in the game’s member countries to each win the sum of 930,000 francs (an amount equivalent to approximately one million euros).
Since 1937, Loterie Romande has donated its entire profit to public utility projects each year. In 2024, more than 243 million francs were distributed to nearly 5,000 projects in the fields of social action, culture, sport, the environment, education, health, tourism, research and heritage.
