Marketed coastal and artisanal fishing products recorded, in terms of value, an increase of 6% to more than 10.54 billion DH for the year 2024, according to the National Fisheries Office (ONP).
The weight of these products stood at 1,336,058 tonnes, a decrease of 1% compared to 2023.
By species, landings of shellfish, algae and crustaceans recorded a decline of 91% to 102 T, 49% to 22,234 T and 6% to 8,126 T respectively.
By port, a total of 14,105 T of coastal and artisanal fishing products were unloaded in Mediterranean port entrances at the end of December 2024, a decline of 17%.
In terms of value, these ports recorded an increase of 8% to nearly 633.5 million DH.
As for ports located on the Atlantic, they decreased, in weight, by 1% to 1,321,953 T. On the other hand, their value increased by 6% to around 10 billion DH.
Morocco
