They were trying to arrest two men who were in a stolen vehicle. The criminals were finally intercepted by another crew and taken into custody.
Two Valencia police officers were injured, one seriously, this Sunday morning, we learned Le Figaro from a police source confirming information from Dauphiné Libéré . Around 5:30 a.m., a Tesla car was reported stolen and spotted in downtown Valencia by a police crew. The officials tried to block him but the vehicle did not slow down and hit the two men. They were taken to hospital without any life-threatening issues: one had to be operated on for an open fracture of the left tibia, the other had a more minor injury to the right ankle.
The two fugitives – the driver and his passenger – were finally able to be arrested by another police crew. According to our information, both are minors and already known to the authorities. A handgun was found in the stolen car. They were taken into custody for “attempted murder of a person holding public authority” but also for a burglary that they are suspected of having committed a few hours earlier.
Before hitting the officials and being arrested, the two minors would have in fact broken into the home of a forty-year-old in Guilherand-Granges, near Valence. After threatening him with a gun, they fled with the victim’s Tesla car in which they were then arrested.
