The government has been able to navigate through successive crises with a keen sense of responsibility, avoiding any exploitation for electoral or political purposes, underlined Saturday Aziz Akhanouch, leader of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) party and head of the Executive. .
During the work of the RNI National Congress held this Saturday January 11, 2025 in Rabat, Akhannouch affirmed that since its inauguration, this government has faced successive crises with a determination marked by “confidence and responsibility”. Among these challenges, he cited the Al-Haouz earthquake and floods ravaging parts of the country.
« We approached each challenge with a spirit of national responsibility, refusing to exploit them for political or electoral purposes, because we are not opportunists taking advantage of misfortunes.“, he argued.
Addressing his party members, Akhannouch said: “ You must today be proud to belong to this party, within a coherent majority which supports a resilient government, engaged in ambitious strategies, under the guidance of His Majesty to build the much desired ‘Morocco of the future’. by all Moroccans« .
With this in mind, the head of government insisted on the fact that his administration is orchestrating an emergency program with a budget of at least 2.5 billion dirhams, devoted to the rehabilitation of areas affected by the floods, to the rehabilitation of road and essential infrastructure, as well as supporting agricultural activities. At the same time, he affirmed that the government is rigorously continuing to implement a comprehensive reconstruction and rehabilitation program in the regions affected by the Al-Haouz earthquake.
In addition, the leader of the Independents announced that “ the second half of this mandate will constitute a nodal point for the development of priority strategies, particularly with regard to employment and strategic management of water“. He clarified that “ the government perspective to respond to water stress materializes through optimal implementation of the national drinking water supply and irrigation program for the period 2020-2027, in accordance with high royal directives« .
Akhannouch also revealed that his government will continue the “ strengthening hydraulic infrastructure, by completing the construction of 15 large dams, accelerating the interconnection of watersheds on a national scale and boosting seawater desalination projects, with the aim of mobilizing 1.7 billion cubic meters by 2030, thanks to an investment of 18 billion dirhams« .
Concerning the crucial question of employment, the head of the RNI insisted that “ the year 2025 will be a decisive step for the strategic direction of the government, aimed at reducing the unemployment rate and generating employment opportunities for Moroccan youth, articulated around an integrated approach, supported by the mobilization of a minimum financial envelope of 14 billion dirhams« .
Furthermore, he stressed the importance of “ promote productive investment as a fundamental pillar for employment, with emphasis on key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, industry and services, while stimulating the dynamism of the entrepreneurial fabric, which it is medium, small or very small« .
As for the draft organic law on the right to strike, Akhannouch noted that after decades of waiting, this government had the audacity to address the legal framework of this law, a crucial step to improve the business climate. and strengthen the attractiveness of the national economy, particularly in terms of investment and the protection of workers’ rights.
He claimed that “ our government experience demonstrates our belonging to an exemplary political school, anchored in values of seriousness and responsibility, practicing an ethical policy that places the interests of the country above personal considerations« .
In another register, the head of the RNI highlighted the convincing electoral results of his party, attesting to renewed confidence among citizens. He also clarified that, since taking charge of the management of the party, a model organization has been established, based on the creation of 19 parallel organizations based on trust between the leadership and the activists.
