Listed among the priorities of the new departmental tourism strategy, gentle daily trips or to occasionally discover the treasures of Aude are on the rise.
Twice a month, on Thursdays, the editorial staff of L'Indépendant, in partnership with the Aude Tourist Development Agency (ADT), explores the assets and riches of the department in connection with the implementation in the spring 2024, from the new destination brand, Aude, the Southern Soul. This week, we focus on one of the strong ambitions of this new 2023-2028 strategy which has made positive impact tourism a priority.
Namely: the development of the cycle tourism offer in the four corners of the territory. Because beyond being a sector with strong potential and expectations are high both among the people of Audois themselves and among visitors since the end of the health crisis, this practice of roaming is fully in line with this logic of sustainable tourism.
Whether on foot or by bike, the promotion of these activities by the Tourist Development Agency, under the aegis of the departmental council, must make it possible to make low-carbon travel conducive, to encourage local tourism, to make this useful practical for the people of Aude in their daily leisure activities, to disseminate flows throughout the territory thanks to a large range of itineraries, to allow the heritage of Aude to be discovered in another way, whether natural or historical. But, also, to offer new ways of meeting between day visitors and residents.
-It is therefore in this context and around this shared ambition that we set out today to meet the Narbonnaise Séléna Corsaletti, organizer of hiking circuits and ambassador of Aude, the Southern Soulso that it can clarify present and future issues for us. We were also able to detail, with the management of the Gruissan tourist office, the objective of the coastal resort to become an essential destination for cycling enthusiasts.
