We recall that Pierre Soulages died on October 25, 2022, leaving a big void in the art world, and particularly in the contemporary art world. Since 1979, Pierre Soulages was passionate about “ultrablacks“, these famous large paintings covered in flat blacks playing paradoxically with light.
