The emergency department of the Nord-Deux-Sèvres hospital center (CHNDS) in Faye-l’Abbesse “is experiencing a period of high tension, with a significant number of people awaiting hospitalization”summarizes the establishment in a press release issued on Wednesday January 8, 2025. The increase in winter pathologies partly explains this context.
To deal with this situation, on Tuesday January 7, the CHNDS activated its white plan (level 1), like many hospitals in France. This crisis system will allow the CHNDS to fully mobilize its human and material resources to guarantee the quality and safety of patient care.
10 to 15 open beds
Several beds, between 10 and 15, spread across the medicine, SMR, surgery units and the Mauléon hospital center will be opened “in order to distribute the effort across all services and improve patient care conditions”.
In addition, a weekly unit to monitor the impact of these measures is set up to ensure that the situation improves.
The attending physician before the CHNDS
In this period of tension, the CHNDS announces that “the addressing must meet a need for acute care or diagnosis”. Patients are therefore invited to contact their treating physician as a first step. The CHNDS has notably set up a system for unscheduled consultations and minor traumatology in Parthenay, accessible without an appointment from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
