Mineral exploration company Aterian PLC announced on Wednesday that it had received high-grade gold assay results for its Tata and Azrar projects in Morocco.
The London-based, Africa-focused mining company said the data was sourced from historic airborne geophysical surveys, as part of the ongoing targeting, streamlining and prioritization process across its portfolio. The surveys covered more than 250 km2 and identified five potential copper target areas in Azrar and four in Tata. “These areas will now undergo further groundwork,” the company said.
“Several targets coincide with areas of copper interest, several targets coincide with known mineralized occurrences at Azrar, which include 0.82 [grammes par tonne d’or] et 0,63% [cuivre] over 9.0 meters from the surface…”, specifies Simon Rollason, CEO of Aterian. “One target (Tata Cu-02) has not been explored, the three other geophysical targets having revealed the presence of copper on the surface. In addition, the results will help us better understand the architecture of the sedimentary basin, which will allow us to further target potential areas of interest and better contextualize the field-derived data sets,” he noted.
