In a turning point in the Bennis-Alj-Slaoui affair, the prosecution of the criminal chamber of first instance at the Casablanca Court of Appeal is looking into the content of a telephone recording, which attests to a conversation between the principal implicated, Kamil Bennis, and Julie, a friend of the complainant who took legal action for acts of rape. According to information from the media Hespress, the interlocutor said she accompanied the alleged victim, a young French lawyer, and a Moroccan acquaintance to a “charlatan” in Marrakech.

The latter would have revealed to the person concerned that she had been drugged and then raped while unconscious, which would have pushed her to file a complaint in and Morocco against Kamil Bennis, M’hamed Alj, Saad Slaoui and Ahmed Daghbour, while suspecting he was subjected to chemical submission.

Julie, who resides in Marrakech, would have revealed in this call that she and her friend had urgently searched for the “sorcerer” after the complainant’s return from Casablanca, where she had attended a party in a villa in Aïn Diab. After the quack’s diagnosis, the lawyer carried out medical examinations upon returning to France, which led to the filing of a complaint in both countries.

In Morocco, the investigating judge previously rejected the request of the defense of the main accused to prosecute him at liberty. The lawyers had provided a list of witnesses who affirmed the absence of rape. According to them, no evidence would characterize the forcible detention of the alleged victim at the scene of the events. For her part, the complainant rejected before the Moroccan courts any version suggesting consensual relationships.

The facts date back to an evening organized on November 2, 2024 at the home of Kamil Bennis, from a family which made its fortune in the pharmaceutical sector. Three other individuals, Mhamed Alj, son of the president of Moroccan employers, Saad Slaoui, entrepreneur based in London, and Ahmed Daghbour, municipal councilor, are implicated.
