In 1975, the song Acadianataken from the album of the same name, was played for the first time on record players. Since then, 50 years have passed, but many people still hum the tunes of Georges Langford, in the Magdalen Islands as elsewhere.
It started with a trip to Louisiana, among the Acadians, with a man named Plume Latraverse and a mutual friend we had called André Langlois
recalls the singer-songwriter. Then when I came back to Montreal at the time, I wrote a song: Acadiana!
It was neither his first nor his last song.
At 76 years old, Georges Langford also walked the boards of Vieux Treuil, in Havre-Aubert, last year. I have a lot of new songs that have never been recorded, so I have material to do shows and I still do a few a year
says the man who never stopped composing music.

Of the 11 titles ofAcadiana, The Scottish et The song of the tractor also left their mark, without forgetting The Lebels’ lament. In the latter, Georges Langford sings the story of the Lebel family, seal hunters who tragically disappeared on the ice, according to his story.
I don’t consider myself a singer, a guitarist or whatever. Me, I’m a songwriter. My first task is to write songs and after that, go share them with the world
