An investigation was opened on Monday, January 6, after the discovery of Stars of David tagged on buildings in Saint-Mandé and Vincennes (Val-de-Marne), near the Hyper Cacher which had been attacked after the 2015 attack on Charlie Hebdoreported a police source and the Créteil public prosecutor's office, contacted by Agence France-Presse (AFP).

Other tags representing a Star of David drawn with black paint were discovered Monday morning on a “ten buildings” Vincennes and Saint-Mandé, a police source told AFP. A registration “Jew” was also found on another building in Saint-Mandé, added this source.
“It inspires disgust in me, I find it absurd to tag things like that, especially during these times when we will soon commemorate the ten years of Charlie Hebdo and Hyper Cacher »deplores Jonathan Msika, 40, to AFP. “It’s despicable”is indignant Florence Ménard, 60 years old and resident of one of the tagged buildings, who recalls being “very close to the Hyper Cacher and 50 meters from the synagogue”.
In the neighboring town of Fontenay-sous-Bois, four people were arrested on Sunday evening for entering a building and drawing Stars of David with a red marker, according to another police source. “The investigations must in particular determine whether the cases are linked”notes the Créteil public prosecutor's office.
