Fred Chaperot, journalist for local television, saves a man from suicide. This man is Jacques, a desperate ironworker since his wife Fanny left him and he can no longer see his son. He started drinking again and can no longer work. But the next day, Pierre, the gendarmerie commander, announces to Fred that Jacques is charged with the murder of his wife. It's a cataclysm in Fred's life: did she save an assassin? Is she responsible for Fanny's death? A case of conscience all the more unbearable since Théo, Jacques' son, is a friend of Rosa, Fred's daughter. Convinced that Jacques is innocent, despite his indictment by the Judge, Fred, helped by Manu, his cameraman will lead the investigation within the ironworks…
