the French team doctor gives news of Cyprien Sarrazin, victim of a heavy fall

One of the best French skiers, Cyprien Sarrazin, seriously injured in the head after a fall during training on December 27 in Bormio (Italy), was repatriated to on Friday January 3. He is now hospitalized and his Alpine Ski World Cup season is over.
Stéphane Bulle was not reassuring. During his fall, Cyprien Sarrazin had a hematoma inside the skull which quickly worsened and led to compression and then surgery. The doctor assures that the athlete has “something much more serious” than a concussion.

The definitive assessment of the skier's state of health has not been established. In the coming weeks, the doctors want to define the skills that Cyprien already has and those that he will need to regain.

“We're going to start rehabilitation with the neurosurgeons. We're going to start allowing him to do the things that everyone does, namely sit on the edge of a bed, eat properly, stand up….” , confides Stéphane Bulle, the doctor of the French team.

Cyprien Sarrazin is conscious, but he is extremely tired and has difficulty opening his eyes. Stéphane Bulle talks about long months of rehabilitation. As for a possible return to competition, the French team doctor admitted that he could not say where it would lead them, but that it remained their objective.
