For the umpteenth time, the Mosson district in Montpellier was the scene of a shooting this Thursday, January 2. It was 6:30 p.m. when two people were hit by gunfire on avenue de Barcelona, while they were parking their car.
Called to the scene, the police first discovered a 24-year-old person with a gunshot wound to the leg. She was quickly taken care of by the SAMU and transported to the University Hospital.
The second passenger, for his part, was hit by around ten bullets, according to our information. When the police arrived at the scene of the shooting, the 33-year-old had already left the scene, transported by a third party to the emergency room of Lapeyronie hospital. In ventilo-cardio-respiratory arrest, he died there later in the evening.
According to the prosecution, the vehicle used to transport the victim was discovered abandoned near the university hospital. He had several bullet holes in the windshield.
For the moment, the investigations seem naturally to be moving towards a settling of scores, against a backdrop of drug trafficking. One of the two people targeted had already been convicted in the past for drug offenses.
According to our information, the scooter which would have been used to commit the shooting was found on fire. The individual(s) responsible for the shooting are still on the run and actively sought. The flagrant investigation was entrusted to the SPIJ in Montpellier.
