James Hagens and Ryan Leonard scored doubles on Thursday as the United States crushed Switzerland 7-2 in the quarterfinals of the World Junior Hockey Championship in Ottawa.
The two American players play with Boston College, as does Brandon Svoboda, who also hit the target.

Danny Nelson and Zeev Buium also scored for the United States, while Gabriel Perreault had three assists.
The Swiss response came from Nils Rhyn and Andro Kaderli.
Remember that the Americans concluded the preliminary phase at the top of Group A after defeating the Canadian team by a score of 4-1 on New Year’s Eve.
The United States faces the Czechs in the semi-finals, who won 4-3 against the Canadians.
Sweden resists Latvia
David Edstrom scored the winning goal in the second period as Sweden held off a comeback from Latvia to win 3-2 in the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
Zeb Forsfjall and Anton Wahlberg also scored for Sweden, which led 3-0 early in the middle period.
The Latvians, however, kept their opponents on alert thanks to two unanswered goals from Eriks Mateiko who reduced the gap to just one after 40 minutes of play.

Melker Thelin stopped 11 shots in the victory. At the other end of the ice, Linards Feldbergs was bombarded with 50 shots.
Sweden, which finished first in Group B with a 4-0 record in the preliminary round, is trying to win the World Junior honors for the first time since 2012.
Finland among the aces
The Finns also reached the semi-final stage with a 5-3 victory over the Slovaks.
Jesse Nurmi was the spark for the victorious side with two goals and an assist, while Jesse Kiiskinen added a success and an assist.
Kasper Halttunen and Rasmus Kumpulainen have completed the score for Finland, which has two aides each from Benjamin Rautiainen and Heikki Ruohonen.
Dalibor Dvorsky, Juraj Pekarcik and Robert Fedor scored the goals for Slovakia. Petteri Rimpinen blocked 33 shots in a winning cause.
Finland will face Sweden in the final four.
Germany returns
In a relegation encounter, Germany erased a 3-1 deficit before recording a 4-3 triumph over Kazakhstan.
With this victory, the Germans are assured of participating in the next edition of the Junior World Championship. The Kazakhs were relegated to Group A of Division 1.
Julius Sumpf scored the decisive goal, Maxim Schafer scored twice and Edwin Tropmann had a goal and an assist.
Assanali Ruslanuly, Nikita Sitnikov and Artur Gross responded for the Kazakh selection.
