Switzerland was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the U20 World Championship in Ottawa. The young Swiss hockey players were dominated 7 to 2 by the reigning world champions. It must be said that trailing 3-0 after less than 12 minutes of play did not bode well. A change of goalkeeper (Elijah Neuenschwander replaced Christian Kirsch) and the reduction of the Swiss score, signed Nils Rhyn outnumbered (16th), could have given new momentum to the Helvetians, but Marcel Jenni’s players quickly conceded a 4th goal (17th) before losing three more times in the middle third.

Andro Kaderli added a second goal for Switzerland after the second tea, in power play (47th), but that was all. Switzerland therefore leaves the World Cup with only one victory, but the most important: that of remaining in the elite of the next generation.
