The toy retailer says the closures include a store in the Argyle Shopping Center in London as well as its stores on Steeles Avenue West in Thornhill, Hurontario Street in Mississauga, Marcus Drive in Sudbury and Centennial Parkway North in Stoney Creek.
The company did not respond to questions about how many jobs will be lost due to these closures.
In addition to closing some stores, the brand says it is also “streamlining” its inventory levels to make room for other concepts in its stores.

In some locations, entertainment brand HMV, which began appearing in the toy store last year and is also run by Toys “R” Us owner Putman Investments, will have an expanded, standalone footprint .
Other stores will be remodeled to accommodate a Wonderlab, a concept Toys”R”Us Canada is testing in Burlington, Ontario, that includes an indoor play structure and space for arts, crafts and sensory activities.
