A man kidnapped in Ain found in the trunk of a car 600 km away

A man was found in the trunk of a car during the night of Wednesday to Thursday January 2 in a supermarket parking lot in Saint-Pavace, in the suburbs of (Sarthe), according to information from Bleu Normandie, source close to the matter this Thursday. This man was tied up, doused with gasoline and had been beaten.

He was sequestered at his home in Ain in Saint-Genis-Pouilly, Tuesday December 31, more than 600 kilometers from where the police found him. From a source close to the case at franceinfo, this man, aged 56, says he was the victim of a housejacking at his home.

According to the first elements of the investigation at France Bleu Normandie, police officers from the anti-crime brigade (Bac) of Le Mans intervened at a petrol station in Saint-Pavace, while two men wearing balaclavas were refueling a Mégane car stolen in the department of Eure. The police hit the car on the driver's side to block it, but the driver and his passenger still managed to escape on foot. So far, they have not been found.

While they were intervening, the police heard “Help” in the trunk of the car: they then discovered the victim injured, but whose vital prognosis was not engaged. He told the police that he had lost track of time and explained that he had been kidnapped with his wife and daughter who were tied up in their home in Ain A ransom demand via encrypted networks was made to her son living in Dubai, adds a source close to the case to France Bleu Normandie.

One of the balaclavas used by the criminals was left on the ground during the foot chase. The investigation is being carried out by the Bourg-en-Bresse public prosecutor's office and the police from the research section are involved.
