A New Year’s Eve punctuated by several incidents. In Oise, the police were once again targeted during the night of New Year's Eve, in Creillois and in Noyon. In this city, a gendarmerie vehicle was notably targeted in the popular district of Mont-Saint-Siméon, we learned from a gendarmerie source.

While the crew was inspecting a building lobby, a group of individuals attacked the car parked nearby: the driver's side window was broken and a rearview mirror was damaged. The soldiers were also targeted by mortar fire while they inquired about the condition of the car.

In total, nearly thirty young people, including adults, are involved, blocking certain roads by lighting trash fires. Calm returned around 1:30 a.m. after the arrival of reinforcements – around twenty gendarmes supported by a municipal police patrol. No injuries were reported.

The perpetrators of the damage to the vehicle and the mortar fire targeting the soldiers are still actively sought by the gendarmerie, who have opened an investigation.

At the other end of the department, in Montataire, a police patrol was the subject of mortar fire, leading to a large deployment of CRS. Tear gas was used to disperse the troublemakers. “Everything returned to normal after an hour,” said Jean-Pierre Bosino, the mayor (PCF) of the town. During the evening, two vehicles also caught fire, one of which accidentally.

In the neighboring town of , “the night was relatively calm,” said mayor (PS) Sophie Dhoury-Lehner. Apart from two vehicles set on fire in the Rouher district and a few mortar shots, no other major incident marred the evening.
