Many French and Moroccan tourists residing in France had the unpleasant surprise of seeing their flight, operated by Royal Air Maroc, scheduled for Monday at 3:40 p.m., grounded until the next day, Tuesday, at 4:20 p.m., to depart in the direction of Paris-Orly.
It all starts on Monday, around 2:30 p.m., when passengers go through security checks and go to the boarding area. The flight, initially announced at 3:40 p.m., suffered delay after delay during the ten hours that followed. “We waited until 11:30 p.m. without any clear information from the company,” laments Catherine, a French tourist, interviewed by Le Parisien. According to her, neither the airport nor the company provided concrete answers, leaving passengers helpless in the face of the situation.
The lack of consideration makes the wait worse: “At the start of the evening, we were given a small bottle of water for four and a sandwich. It was ridiculous,” reports Catherine. Among the passengers, many families with young children and elderly people undergoing medical treatment face these conditions with difficulty.
Around 11:30 p.m., the passengers were finally taken to a hotel, where they arrived shortly after midnight, not without having gone through customs controls to leave the airport. At 2 a.m., a message from Royal Air Maroc promised them information at noon. “At 12:13 p.m., we were told by email that our flight was canceled!” Catherine is indignant.
The afternoon nevertheless brought a glimmer of hope. The hotel reception informs passengers that a bus chartered by the company will take them back to the airport. Finally, a plane from Casablanca took them on board at 3:30 p.m., 24 hours after the initially planned departure.
