While it is the winter break, and the Girondins de Bordeaux are on vacation – they resume on December 30, editor’s note – the journalist Forever, Julien Béemade a sporting assessment of the first part of the Bordeaux season. Here are his annotations on several players, but also from the coach.
“What if we gave ourselves a little sporting assessment of the first part of the Girondins season? Bruno Irles has been a bold and profitable choice for the moment. Controlled and honest communication. Some questionable choices, certainly, but that’s the lot of all coaches.
Four players really stand out in this collective: Lassana Diabaté, Soufiane Bahassa, Andy Carroll and Jean Grillot. These four are always in good shape! Others are also good picks like Driss Trichard, Nathanaël Baï, Adrien Louveau or Yanis Merdji! Some are there but not all the time like Cédric Yambéré or Emeric Depussay.
And there are some flops like Amadou Diallo, Travis Mutyaba or Thomas Trazié from whom we expect much more!
At a collective level, we saw a mentality that commands respect and if they continue on this path then it will pay off at the end of the season! Certainly Saint-Malo is having a great championship and is in the lead but there are still many points to be taken! It's doable! »
