Kaffrine, Dec 28 (APS) – A round table on young people’s access to land brought together, on Saturday, different structures of this segment of the population in Kaffrine (center), in order to raise their awareness of the challenges linked to the factors of production, in the agrosylvopastoral sector, noted the APS.
”Holding this round table is part of the program we have with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), particularly within the framework of the +Tekki sunu suuf+’ project, explained Fara Ndiaye, coordinator National Network of Champions for Success in Senegal.
Through this meeting, the initiators wish to promote young people’s access to land and production factors.
This project aims to enable young people to stay in their region and succeed there, specifies Fara Ndiaye, in an interview with journalists. He spoke at the end of this multi-stakeholder round table on the challenges of young people in acquiring land in the agrosylvopastoral sector in Senegal.
The project must at the same time help diagnose the problems that young people face, he added.
According to him, the same activity was organized in the four departments of the Kaffrine region? through multi-actor dialogue series.
Kaffrine’s round table aimed to synthesize the various recommendations that young people had made during multi-actor dialogues to develop an advocacy strategy allowing them to have easy access to land and factors of production.
The president of the Kaffrine municipal youth council, Birame Mangane, welcomed this initiative. He believes that it comes at the right time to further support young people.
