52 deaths on Hérault roads in 2024

The prefect's chief of staff, Thibault Félix, clarified this by giving some figures during a road check, this Thursday, December 26 in Saint-Jean-de-Védas. Individuals killed on the roads of Hérault totaled 52, the number of injured increased to 978 for a total of 775 accidents in 2024.
78% of French people consume alcohol at New Year's Eve
Sophy Sainten, the general delegate of the Road Safety Association, announced this Friday, December 27, at a press conference, that 42% of French people fear a road accident linked to alcohol. “This figure before was more around 20% and it has really increased a lot over the last three years“, she added during this same conference. Still according to the national association, 78% of French people consume alcohol on New Year's Eve.
