Fatick, Dec 23 (APS) – The General Directorate for Social Protection and National Solidarity plans to set up in Fatick (center) a protection center called to provide beneficiaries with a guaranteed minimum income and health coverage, a one of the officials said on Monday.
“We want to set up in each region, a social protection center which will bring together all the actors who will communicate for much more integrated social protection”, said Papa Malick Gningue, its director of social safety net management. .
Speaking at a regional development committee devoted to the subject, he recalled that the objective through the opening of a center in Fatick was to build a social protection system accessible to all and providing everyone with a guaranteed minimum income. and health coverage.
“It is imperative to ensure a global safety net ensuring resilience for all those who suffer from shocks and crises that could push them into poverty or vulnerability,” noted Mr. Gningue.
The General Directorate for Social Protection and National Solidarity will strengthen the capacities of social protection actors for two days to better meet the needs of the populations.
It results in the establishment of the National Development Strategy (2025-2029) which includes inclusive social protection of the population on the list of levers to promote development.
This workshop is part of a series of meetings organized in four regions and financed by Expertise France through the Support Project for the implementation of the National Social Protection Strategy of the European Union.
