Loaned by PSG to Reims, Gabriel Moscardo is barely starting his season. Why did we have to wait until December to see it in action?
While Gabriel Moscardo, a promising midfielder on loan from Paris Saint-Germain to Reims, had not yet found his place in the team, he celebrated his first start this Sunday during a Coupe de France match against Still- Mutzig (R1). The young player scored one of the three goals in the victory (1-3), drawing attention to his late debut. His coach, Luka Elsner, explained the reasons behind this situation.
Luka Elsner's explanations
For his first match as a starter this season, Gabriel Moscardo made an impression by scoring an important goal during the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France. This performance against Still-Mutzig shows a glimpse of the potential of the young Brazilian player on loan from Paris Saint-Germain. After this meeting, Reims coach Luka Elsner justified why Moscardo had not played earlier this season.
“The reason he didn't appear sooner was because he lacked the ability to play faster, find connections in small spaces and needed to get back into peak athletic shape. But he can now use these foundations, and his good mentality, to perform well in the second half of the season.explained the Reims coach.
