This Wednesday, December 18, Roshan Malloo, a 28-year-old municipal police officer from , lost his life in following a traffic accident.

While on his way to work, a head-on collision with a bus caused serious injuries. Transported to hospital, he unfortunately did not survive.

His sister Adèle shared her moving testimony to L’info.re. According to the family, Roshan suffered a ruptured aneurysm while driving, thus causing the accident. Placed in a state of brain death, he was kept on artificial respiration in order to allow the donation of his organs.

“He was hit in the head, arms and legs, but his thorax remained intact. I don’t know if it’s a sign, but thanks to this donation, he will continue to save lives, as he already did in his profession,” explains Adèle.

A former police officer in Saint-Paul, Roshan was also a car enthusiast. “His car was his whole life. He participated in many rallies, especially for SEAT. Many people paid tribute to him on social networks,” she adds.

Adèle describes her brother as a kind, generous man and devoted to others. “Whether in his profession or in everyday life, he loved helping people. My daughter, his goddaughter, was everything to him. He lived with us during his first year and was like a second dad.”

A tribute was paid to him last Sunday at the Saint-Paul seafront, near the fairground market square. A balloon release was organized in his memory. “We will bring his ashes back to Reunion. He was very attached to his native island,” explains Adèle.

To support his family, an online fundraiser was opened.
