Dakar, Dec 22 (APS) – Miguel Dias-Canel, President of the Republic of Cuba, once again denounced the economic blockade that the United States of America continues to exercise against his country, demanding the withdrawal of the island from the American list of state sponsors of terrorism.
The Cuban head of state notably reiterated his rejection of the American blockade and demanded the removal of the largest Caribbean island from the American State Department's list of countries that support terrorism during a demonstration organized Friday in front of the United States Embassy in Cuba.
According to RHS, the country's official news agency, the demonstration recorded the presence of General Raul Castro Ruz and thousands of Havana residents gathered to march in the name of the Cuban people.
At the same time, the President of Cuba demanded respect for the country's right to build its future in peace.
Miguel Dias-Canel denounced the fact that the current American administration, 30 days before the end of its mandate, has not reversed the policies of its predecessor, Donald Trump (2017-2021), who will return to office this month next.
''With the implementation of 243 additional measures and the retention of Cuba on the list of countries that support terrorism, Biden has complied in a disciplined and cruel manner with the policies that Trump approved during his mandate,'' reported the source.
Díaz-Canel insisted that it was “false and immoral to designate Cuba as a state that supports terrorism.”
''Keeping Cuba on this list and intensifying the blockade policy are actions against the Cuban people and must stop now,'' he said.
