Sports stand, recycling, organic bakery… Here are some of the new businesses that have marked the year 2024.
1- The Klub house, temple of sports broadcasting
550 m² of surface area, a rooftop, a 50-seat stand facing a 10 m giant screen2… The new establishment which opens its doors on Saturday March 23, 2024, next to Kermasport, Kergaradec area, is packing a punch. Dedicated to the broadcast of sports matches, the Klub-House bar-restaurant could not hope for a better year for its launch, between the Paris Olympic Games, the summer and, more locally, the historic qualification of the Stade Brestois in the Ligue des champions. Nine months after its opening, the place found its audience, filling up for each of Brest's matches.
2 – Aux Capucins, a new setting for better consumption
With its 370 m², its approximately 5 m high ceilings and its terrace overlooking the Cesária-Évora belvedere, the large premises at the entrance to the Ateliers des Capucins has, in real estate jargon, what we call “potential”. . It has been occupied since 2023 by the Les Insolites association, which, after major work in the summer of 2024, has welcomed the public since October from Tuesday to Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Imagined by the associations Vert le Jardin and the recycling company Un peu d'R, this space has set itself the objective of raising visitors' awareness of more local and reasoned consumption. This involves workshops, farmers' markets, recycling (furniture, books, toys, etc.) and a small tea room.
3 – In the shoes of a TV game candidate
Spin the wheel of fortune or test the tilted decor of Friday, anything goes : this is the concept of Cube TV, which opens its doors on Tuesday October 29, at no. 42 rue de Glasgow. Brest is 6e city in France, but the first in the west, to host this franchise allowing everyone to put themselves in the shoes of a participant in a game show. HAS West France, we tested the variant ofA golden familybecome A golden team, by confronting each other on themes such as “worst movie villains”, or “what do you do just before a job interview”. Verdict? It's, as you often hear, easier in front of your screen!
4 – A 100% organic bakery in Saint-Louis
Sourdough breads, pastries, pastries, snacks… A 100% organic offering in bakeries is not that common. Since November 26, Brest residents have had access to it, thanks to the opening of a Le Signor boutique, rue Duquesne, in the Saint-Louis district.
This is the brand's third point of sale, also present in markets, in Biocoop stores and in restaurants. The other two are in Louargat (Côtes-d'Armor) and Saint-Thonan, where this artisanal bakery created in 2006 in Landivisiau moved its work tools in 2022. The Finistère company employs 24 people over 600 m2.
5 – Chez Lucette, a cozy address in Recouvrance
What if we ended 2024 with a flowery carrot cake or a chocolate-hazelnut pistachio cookie, accompanied by a hot drink, all enjoyed in a cozy place? At the beginning of December, Lucette opened in Recouvrance, a coffee shop just as we like them. Enough to bring warmth in the heart of winter, and excitement to this district, where little by little, commerce is coming back to life.

At the end of 2022, Le Grabuge opened, a bar that became a driving force in the entertainment of Recouvrance, while 2024 saw the opening of two restaurants, La Pâterie (by the owner of Ty Kall and Last Player, already in Recouvrance) and Olà. Boteco. As for 2025, it will see the arrival, in the first half of the year, of a sewing-themed recycling center.
And in 2025?
Among the other business openings expected in 2025, one will undoubtedly cause quite a stir: at the beginning of June 2025, a 1,400 m2 food court is due to open in Kergaradec.2. A food court? A place bringing together several restaurateurs, with common areas for eating. We find this on a smaller scale at the Pam, but in this project, no less than ten brands are expected, in order to serve 400 to 500 people at each service.
Another opening which should cause a buzz: the return of Quick to Brest, scheduled for mid-February, seven years after its replacement by Burger King, Pen Ar C'hleuz roundabout. It will take place at 179, route de Gouesnou, in the Europe district, in place of the former restaurant La Boucherie,
The year that begins will also be decisive for the future of the Casino de Brest hypermarket, one of the oldest hypermarkets in Brittany. Leclerc Gouesnou has positioned himself to take over part of the store, for food, a parapharmacy and toys. Will the offer succeed? What about 2,800 m2 remaining? For the moment, among the unions and within the gallery where the supermarket is located, “caution” sir
Finally, 2025 will perhaps see the conclusion of a suspense that has been going on for some time in the city: will Starbucks come to Brest, or not? In October 2024, we learned that the world's number one coffee shop was giving up on setting up in the former Camaïeu de Coat ar Gueven. While ensuring “look for another opportunity in Brest”. So to be continued.
