On the evening of Saturday December 21, in the town center of La Seyne-sur-Mer, two people were shot in the head.
The double homicide was committed in the middle of the evening, around 11 p.m. The two victims are a couple from Marseille, city in which they were still domiciled.
However, the couple had just taken over a nighttime grocery store, “Alimentation and Brunch”, rue Marceau, in the old center of La Seyne-sur-Merbetween the port and Place Daniel-Perrin.
A large number of national and municipal police officers and firefighters, joined by Lydie Onteniente, deputy mayor, permanent elected officialwas deployed on site.
“They had been living here for two months”
“I didn’t see anything, I close at 8 p.m., and I didn’t know the victims, they had been living there for two months”indicates this Sunday morning, when the emotion has already subsidedthe manager of the bar located opposite the grocery store.
“I didn't know them either. Before them the grocery store was managed by West Indians, observes Grégory Berthet, who on Saturday evening was with his uncle, resident of a building also located opposite the grocery store. We didn't hear anything“.
This double murder raises the question of security in the city center of La Seyne. “To me, this affair smacks of settling scores“says Cheikh Mansour, deputy delegate for security.
“At La Seyne, we have a problem with businesses staying open at night. Their activity creates too much nuisance, especially for people who work the next day and live above.”
And the chosen one bounces back: “I am considering issuing an order to force them to close at night, within a specific area”.
