Ce Monday December 23, 2024, at 11 a.m.a gathering is planned at Place du Salin in Toulouse, for support all Mahorese familiesaffected by Cyclone Chido.
A moment of contemplation
This same day, Monday December 23, is declared national day of mourning. The opportunity for Toulouse, as for other cities, to pay tribute to the thousands of victims of Cyclone Chido. Throughout the day, the Capitol flags will be flown at half-mast.
This gathering at Place du Salin is organized by the Toulouse town hall. Mayor Jean-Luc Moudenc will be present. He already wants to “express all his solidarity with Mayotte, after the passage of cyclone Chido on the archipelago”, announces the town hall in a press release.
Aid from the metropolis
We announced it on Friday December 20, the department of Haute-Garonne is providing financial assistance to the affected populations. On this same line, Toulouse Metropolis a released financial aid of 20 000 €adding to the fund opened by the Association of Mayors of France (AMF), in connection with civil protection.
Reception area
The Community will also make the Potier room (128, route d'Espagne) available to associations helping Mayotte. This space is regularly used as an emergency reception area to facilitate support and aid collection actions.
