Kaffrine, Dec 21 (APS) – The National Agency for the Promotion of Youth Employment (ANPEJ) provided, on Friday, equipment to twelve young entrepreneurs from the department of Kaffrine (center) to support them in their various projects, noted the APS.
This support is part of a project which started in 2023 but which, for this year, concerns young entrepreneurs from the regions of Kaffrine, Tamba (east) and Kédougou (south-east) with funding of 150 million FCFA .
''These young entrepreneurs were chosen in different fields of activity including agriculture, livestock, catering, digital, among others,'' explained the director of orientation, training and education. integration of young people at ANPEJ, Matar Ndao.
He was speaking at the end of the official ceremony of handing over this material to the beneficiaries, in the presence of the deputy prefect of the Kaffrine department, Modou Thiaw, development partners and other territorial stakeholders.
According to Mr. Ndao, several criteria have been established in the granting of financing for the benefit of young entrepreneurs.
''The first thing to look at in these criteria is whether the young person is active or not? Then, he must have a viable project, which responds to current events especially in more productive areas at the local level,'' explained Matar Ndao.
He also specified that “interviews are also carried out to help define the profile of the person concerned to find out whether they are ambitious or not. A person who has the will to undertake,” he underlined.
''We are interested in everything that revolves around personal development and human capital,'' said the head of ANPEJ.
For his part, Lahine Ndao, a young entrepreneur who is one of the beneficiaries, welcomed ANPEJ's new approach to supporting young people to enable them to contribute to the development of the various sectors concerned.
