Since Wednesday, December 18, Place Grangier in has hosted a unique place: Madaé, a urban garden center imagined by Élise and Amandine Vesperini, two twin sisters passionate about plants.

A plant cocoon

Located at number 3 of the square, the boutique unveils a warm setting. Exposed stone walls and vibrant colors on the ceiling contribute to the friendly and soothing atmosphere. A large bay window bathes the space in natural light, offering a true green haven in the city center.

“We want Madaé to be more than just a store: a place where everyone can reconnect with natureeven in an urban environment, and leave with plants, accessories or simply the memory of a pleasant moment,” explains Élise.

This welcoming setting is not limited to aesthetics: “We could call it the plant bistro ! » they joke. Indeed, a cozy café space will soon be set up, allowing visitors to a break around a hot drink.

Local workshops and partnerships

Madaé is not limited to selling plants. A room located at the back of the store is dedicated to creative workshopswhich will start in the spring. Among the activities offered, we will find in particular repotting or plant creation sessions.

The products offered on site also favor short circuits and local know-how. “Value the artisans premises is an integral part of our project. We not only want to promote the biodiversitybut also support the actors in our territory,” underlines Amandine. A local potter is notably highlighted thanks to a consignment space dedicated to his creations.

Plants to put on the balcony

Madaé aims to be accessible to everyone, regardless of budget or needs. “We offer perennials, bulbs, small fruits, seeds… perfect plants for balconies somehow ! », Explain Élise and Amandine. The idea is to allow everyone, even in an apartment, to bring a touch of greenery in his daily life.

And for those looking for gift ideas, the sisters remind us that “a plant can be a great last minute gift for Christmas. That way, when the person who receives the plant takes care of it, they will think of you! »

A passionate family adventure

After ten years of experience in the plant field, Élise as plant manager at Botanic, and Amandine as executive assistant at Jardiland, the two sisters decided to make a reality their common dream : “In large garden centers, we don't have time to talk. There is a crazy rhythm. Here, we wanted a place that suited us, simple and natural…” they confide.

Their journey, marked by studies in applied arts and landscaping, reflects their passion for nature and advice. “Not for us, the office!” We love green, nature, and advise people,” they declare enthusiastically.

Long-term work

Opening Madaé in the middle of December was no easy feat: “We worked two and a half months non-stop in the room to be ready Wednesday December 18. We had to be there for the holidays,” they said.

With this urban garden center in the heart of Dijon, Élise and Amandine not only hope reconnecting city dwellers to nature, but also offer a unique and warm space, where each visit is a parenthesis of greenery and conviviality.
