Villeurbanne: work on the T6 tram requires Orange to move its network

The work on the trams undermines the infrastructure that had been there sometimes for several decades. Network operators must move them as with in .

The last cable finally cut

The work surrounding the extension of the T6 line of the Villeurbanne tramway is gigantic and on this occasion, numerous networks must be reviewed, and this is particularly the case for telecommunications networks.

Orange therefore had to divert, or relocate, its fiber optic network and do so with the lowest possible impact for customers. And for this, the operation takes several months to put in place, starting with an impact study.

You have to know which parts of the network will be impacted by the work and find a solution to get around the problem, also obtain authorizations… a long-term job.

Once this is done, the work must then be carried out and this can also take a long time since it is impossible to cut all the cables at the same time, especially so as not to rush to reconnect everything at once. As part of the work on the T6 in Villeurbanne, Orange has just cut the last fiber optic cable to be moved and the reconnection was carried out immediately.
