Princess Elisabeth, a public policy student at Harvard University in Boston, is back in Belgium for the end-of-year holidays. She attended, with her sister and parents, the recording of the traditional Christmas concert.
The traditional Christmas concert was recorded Wednesday evening at the Royal Palace in Brussels, in the presence of King Philippe, Queen Mathilde, Princess Eléonore and… Princess Elisabeth.
The heir to the throne, back from Boston where she has been studying since this summer, wanted to be present, marking her only appearance in Belgium for the end of the year.
We found her smiling on the arm of her sister Eléonore and surrounded by her parents, the King and Queen.
Other members of the royal family were also invited, but were unable to attend. Princes Emmanuel and Gabriel should join their sisters soon, but are currently held back by their studies. Prince Laurent and Princess Astrid were also invited, but could not be present. King Albert and Queen Paola, too tired, preferred to stay in the south of France where they rested. Furthermore, Princess Delphine, not active within the monarchy, was not invited.
This concert is indeed an opportunity to thank those who worked for the monarchy during the year, and the King’s half-sister is not an active member.
For fans, the concert will be broadcast on December 25 on RTL TVI.
