After Binic in November 2023, Fanny Raulet and Maxime Etesse have just opened a second wine cellar in the municipality of Saint-Quay-Portrieux (Côtes-d’Armor). Their “Pupitre”, named after the V-shaped wooden support in which the bottles are placed, is installed on Boulevard du Maréchal Foch.
A tour of France’s vineyards
Fanny Raulet was born in Reims in Champagne and Maxime Etesse is Quinocean. He attended the Embruns school and the Camille Claudel college. It is during a professional retraining that they met. Fanny was finishing a work-study internship at the Troyes wine library and Maxime was hesitating between commerce, sales and real estate.
It is therefore on the benches of the Someliers-Cavistes school of Vitré that their story began.
It clicked between us straight away. We both had the same idea in mind: opening a cellar. But above all, we wanted to take a tour of France’s vineyards.
Maxime Etesse continues: “Our knowledge, with the courses, was very technical and we needed to be in contact with the winegrowers and their work. So, in 2023, we have traveled France and this also allowed us to reference our wines for the store.”
250 references
And in fact, the Pupitre wine cellar counts 250 references in biodynamics and natural wines*. Beaujolais, Rhône, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Alsace but also Italian wines. Bottle prices range from €6.90 to €400.
Pupitre also offers an assortment of Breton beersspirits (whiskey, gin, vodka, etc.), sparkling wines (champagne, prosecco, crémants, etc.), liqueurs and even a small local grocery store. (sausages…).
