Wednesday December 11, 2024, the new edition of the Makers Forum was a great success in the premises of the FabLab in Agglo.

Entrepreneurs, craftsmen, professionals, individuals, enthusiasts or simply curious… and even students in the preparatory class for higher art schools. With nearly a hundred visitors, children and adults, the latest edition of the Makers Forum, which took place on Wednesday December 11, 2024 at the FabLab in Carcassonne Agglo, was a great success.

Over the past five years, the system has evolved significantly. He moved to new XXL premises, in Delta'[R]355 rue Gérard-Desargues, Salvaza area. He became [R]’Lab in September and acquired around fifteen new machines, in addition to its 3D printers, digital milling machine, laser cutting machine… Welcomed by the Fab Manager, Emmanuel Etienne, visitors discovered the places, the equipment , and were able to participate in various workshops led by craftsmen and members of La Fabrique, the FabLab users’ association: cyanotype (ancestral photography process), painting on glass (approximately stained glass) , straw marquetry, digital embroidery, screen printing on textiles, 3D printing…

“No [R]’Lab, which makes its machines available to the public all year round, has the ambition of becoming a reference place in this area at the regional level”explains Christian Magro. “This is one of the Agglo’s virtuous actions for sustainable development.” The vice-president of Carcassonne Agglo, delegate for Economic Foresight, Innovation and Higher Education, went to the Makers Forum, “organized within the framework of providing access to digital tools for the greatest number of people”.
